Realising that there are still people who do not speak Dutch, I have decided to translate this first page of my homepage into English. Another reason for my translation into English is that I dont want to hear people constantly complain, that they do not understand what i write.
So here we go.
About Me
I was born (1949) and reared in the Netherlands. To be precise, my birthplace was Kerkrade that lies near the German border.
Nowadays I live in Stein and this is near the Belgian border.
My adolescent years were spent during the turbulent, but for me beautiful, sixties.
In 1970 I married Ria Jacobs who came from Nuth (also in the Netherlands)
Ria and I, had 3 children. Two boys and a girl.
Eelco (1971), Marianne (1977) and Bram (1979).
Eelco was handicapped from birth and died in 1985.

My musical preferences are the Pretty Things, the Rolling Stones, The Who, Marianne Faithfull, Them, the Animals, Eminem but also BAP, Neerlands Hoop and Bram Vermeulen.
Jan Wolkers, Harry Mulisch, Brecht and Sartre are my favourite writers.
My favourite painter is Franz Marc.
In the sixties and seventies I was politically active in the left-wing youth movement (Socialistische Jeugd / SJ).
I still am a left-winger, but I don't feel at home in any of the present Dutch political parties.
I hope, however, something of my political idealism lives on in my page "comments".

My greatest hobby is computing
I bought my first computer in 1983, it was a Sinclair ZX Spectrum (48K). After that I got an Apple IIe, an Apple IIe( enh.), an Apple II GS, a Macintosh Plus, a Macintosh SE/30, a Macintosh LCII, a Performa 460, a Macintosh II ,a Macintosh LC 475, a Macintosh Performa 630 , a Macintosh Quadra 800, a PowerMac Performa 5320, a PowerBook 5300c, a Macintosh Powerbook 1400 CS, a Powermac performa 6400, a G3 Blue & White, a PowerMac G4 Cube and a MacBook 2.1.. All these computers are still in good shape. I like to network all these Apple computers and see what is possible .
An other area of my computer hobby is in helping people to use Apple computers..
Computers are not my only hobby.
Ria and I, we spent a lot of our time walking and cycling.
Whilst doing this I look for and sometimes find new specimen for my collection of beerglasses.
But was does it all matter, Surf the internet, stay healthy, enjoy and live life and let everybody have some space.
